Anushka Sharma is youngest child of Kumar Sharma (retd.) and Ashima Sharma. She was born in Ayodhya UP on 1 May 1988. Anushka was the daughter of an officer who had retired. and her mother is a housewife. Karnesh Sharma, Anushka's elder brother, served as an Merchant Navy officer and is currently a movie producer. Anushka Sharma completed her schooling at the Army School, Bangalore and has pursued the Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Anushka Sharma has a master in Arts in Economics. Anushka would like to be either a model or journalist rather than an actor. Anushka joined Elite Model Management after graduating and was trained by Prasad Bidapa, the stylist consultant. In 2017 Anushka had her first modeling experience for the designer Wendell Rodricks's Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was selected by him to be the finale model at spring 2007's Spring Collection. Anushka, since making her Lakme Fashion Week modelling debut has appeared in campaigns by companies like Fiat Palio Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka Sharma alongside her modelling career, attended an acting class and started giving auditions for movies. Anushka made her debut acting in the year 2008 with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. To get ready for her screen test, she spent the whole day. After that, she was signed to three films under Yash Raj Films banner. In the movie she performed the part of a young bride to a middle-aged man (the part Shah Rukh Khan was playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka performed along with Shahid Kapoor and Vir Das Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 film "Badmash Company". It received mixed reviews. Anushka appeared in a film named Band Baaja Baaraat, starring Ranveer in which she portrayed a Punjabi-American girl of middle-class who starts her wedding planning business. The film was well-received and was a huge success. Anushka has completed her 3-film contract in partnership with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
