Kim Delaney was an American actress. Her most well-known role is for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded the Emmy Award. Her credits are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of a United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised with her four brothers and sisters. While she had a childhood dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until high school that Delaney began to model. When she moved from New York City and gaining an experience working in commercials at New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. Her first appearance as an actor was as an innocent teenager in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney was in numerous of TV movies, film as well as dramas in the years since. Like her career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. In the past, this accomplished actress battled the effects of alcohol and two marriages fail. In 2005, she lost the custody of her son.
